Lee will headline a major boxing event Sept. 16 at Notre Dame

CARSON, Calif. – Three-time Bengal Bouts champion Mike Lee dominated yet another fight Saturday night with a third-round knockout victory over Michael Birthmark at the Home Depot Center.

Fighting on the undercard of the World Lightweight Championship between Urbano Antillon and Brandon Rios, Lee (6-0-0) recorded his fourth career knockout with a powerful right jab that sent his opponent to the floor for the third and final time.

As soon as CBS announced Duke as the fourth No. 1-seed in this year's NCAA tournament, the primary question for Notre Dame fans became, which No. 1-seed would the Irish be paired with?

The answer: Kansas – quite possibly the last of the four most Notre Dame fans wanted to see.

But, perhaps the regional is still tilted in favor of the Irish

Expert predicts ND as national champions

 

If any Notre Dame fans are having trouble believing the Irish could be a legitimate national championship contender, don't take it from me:

"At this moment, give me Ohio State, Duke, Notre Dame and Kansas State to reach the Final Four, with the Fighting Irish winning it all.

And I can't believe I just typed that sentence. 

But I'll stick with it at least until tomorrow morning."
