Former student Edward Lim dies

Former University undergraduate student Edward Lim died Friday at his home in Cincinnati, according to an email sent to all students Monday night.

Although he was not enrolled at the University during the 2016-2017 academic year, Lim was a program of liberal studies major living in Morrissey Hall during his freshman and sophomore years at the University, and he sang in the Notre Dame Chorale, according to the email.

“As always, the University Counseling Center and Campus Ministry are available to offer their support to students,” Vice President for Student Affairs Erin Hoffmann Harding said in the email. “Thank you for keeping Edward, his family and all who loved him in your prayers as we mourn his loss within the Notre Dame community.”

A memorial mass for Lim is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 9 p.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the email said. Fr. Pete McCormick and Fr. Sean McGraw will lead the mass, and music will be provided by the Chorale and the Celebration Choir.
