The University of Notre Dame announced Wednesday the appointment of Sara Sievers as associate dean for policy and practice in the new Keough School of Global Affairs, according to a University press release.
Sievers, an expert in international policy and governance issues related to development, will also serve as an associate professor of the practice in the School, the release said.
Sievers has previously served as the founding executive director of the Center on Globalization and Sustainable Development at Columbia University and Harvard University's Center for International Development, the release stated. In the past, Sievers had worked for the United States Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine as the vice consul for political and economic affairs and as a special assistant to the assistant secretary for legislative affairs in Washington, D.C., the release said. She earned a BA in government from Harvard and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has taught international development at both Harvard and Columbia, according to the press release.
The Keough School of Global Affairs will welcome its first class of students in fall 2017, according to the School's website.
