Notre Dame adjunct professor of law Damon Leichty was confirmed as a federal judge for the U.S. District Court for northern Indiana in a 85-10 vote by the U.S. Senate on Wednesday.
Nominated by President Trump in July 2018, the South Bend lawyer will replace Judge Robert L. Miller Jr.
As an adjunct professor at the Law School, Leichty teaches classes in product liability. He graduated from Wabash College and Indiana University Maurer School of Law and is a partner at the Barnes & Thornburg law firm.
