Men's Tennis: Early lead squashes rivals

The No. 29 Irish immediately secured  momentum against No. 17 Illinois and maintained it throughout the evening to come out on top with a 4-1 win at home. Thanks to a strong start in doubles play and a string of triumphs in singles play, Notre Dame secured the match even before two singles courts had concluded play.

Club Sports: Cycling team wins first mass start A race

On a frigid Saturday afternoon, through the snow glazed fields and around the frozen lakes of Greencastle, Ind., Notre Dame's men's A team broke through the varsity barrier and scored its first ever mass start A victory in school history. Raising his arms in triumph at the conclusion of the 73-mile event, sophomore John Pratt accomplished what few non-scholarship athletes achieve in a collegiate cycling career, besting professional riders, national champions and Olympians alike.

Women's Lacrosse: Irish look to remain unbeaten against Detroit

No. 7 Notre Dame started slowly in each of its three games thus far, but battled back from first half deficits in each to remain unbeaten. Now, the Irish are tasked with continuing that winning streak - and with putting together a consistent performance from start to finish - when they host Detroit this evening.

Bernard: Irish clinch Big East title, solidify dominance (March 5)

This game was about a lot of things for the No. 2 Irish. It was about finishing undefeated in the Big East and earning a conference title. It was about further strengthening Notre Dame's resume for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. It was about beating a fellow top-10 opponent in prime time in front of a packed Purcell Pavilion and a national television audience.

Men's Basketball: Seniors seize the storm

On a wintry South Bend night, the No. 24 Irish used a red-hot second half and overcame icy first-half shooting to finally defeat St. John's 66-40 on Senior Night at Purcell Pavilion on Tuesday.

Fueled by 29 points and 11 rebounds from senior captain and guard SkylarDiggins, No. 2 Notre Dame mounted a series of late comebacks to defeat No. 3 Connecticut 96-87 in triple overtime Monday in Purcell Pavilion.

Men's Lacrosse: Kavanagh powers squad to dramatic victory

Sixty minutes were not enough. Neither were 64 or 68. But in the third overtime period, junior midfielder Jim Marlatt came away with a crucial ground ball and managed a pass to freshman attack Matt Kavanagh. Kavanagh made one quick move and buried the game-winning goal for a 10-9 win over No. 9 North Carolina in Arlotta Stadium on Saturday.

Men's Swimming: Irish take Big East crown

Notre Dame capped off the fourth day of the 2013 Big East Championships with a conference championship win and with a meet-record 991 points at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Fencing: ND wins conference title

As both individuals and a team, Notre Dame had a successful weekend as the hosts of the Midwest Fencing Conference Championships, taking four individual titles and also finishing in first as a team with a total of 1,590 points.

Racking up 10 event wins, four meet records and six school records in a dominating week, the Irish finished second in the Big East championships at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis on Sunday, falling only to Louisville.

Bengal Bouts: Going out with a bang

138-pound: Jack "Rico Suave" Lallydef. Mark Frego In the opening fight of the 83rd Bengal Bouts finals, the senior captain Jack Lally won by unanimous decision and became only the 12th competitor in Bengal Bouts history to win his weight class all four years. The possibility of earning that distinction placed many expectations on the senior, pressure he said only dissipated once the fight was over.
