Allen: Football hardware up for grabs (Nov. 28)

·

Manti for Heisman. It's become a ubiquitous refrain on campus and in Notre Dame circles around the country. The Hawaiian linebacker has a real chance at taking home Notre Dame's first Heisman Trophy since 1987. But the Guglielmino Athletics Complex should add a few pieces of hardware before awards season comes to a close. It's about a lot more than just MantiTe'o.

Joseph: Swarbrick and Kelly carrying out a grand vision for Notre Dame (Nov. 27)

·

LOS ANGELES - As the final seconds ticked off the clock Saturday night, Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick made celebratory rounds on the Notre Dame sideline, embracing sweaty Irish players while wearing a sharp grey suit. Hefferon: Calipari's actions divide hoops fans (Nov. 28)

·

This might not be becoming of an upstanding, law-abiding schoolboy at a Catholic university, but I think one of the best things about sports is that it allows us, in a socially acceptable fashion, to hate people we've never met. There are cheaters, bums, goats, sleazeballs - and players, coaches and owners we just plain don't like.

Hockey: ND wins Saturday to split weekend

·

On Friday night, the Irish felt they had been shorted by an official's judgment call that led to a 2-1 loss to No. 7 North Dakota. Saturday, the team left no room for similar doubts.

ND Volleyball: Irish receive at-large bid to NCAA despite loss

·

Just a day after spending Thanksgiving as a team at the home of Irish coach Debbie Brown, the Irish traveled to Athens, Ohio, for their final regular season game against the Bobcats on Friday, unsure of whether their season would be continuing after the game. Though Notre Dame (20-9) fell to Ohio 3-2, the team received the good news it had been awaiting when the NCAA selection committee awarded the Irish an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament Sunday.
