Football: Irish fall to Midshipmen

Jimmy Clausen set career-highs in pass attempts (51), completions (37), and passing yards (452), Golden Tate made nine catches for 132 yards and a touchdown, and Michael Floyd returned to the field for Notre Dame, but the Irish were not able to fight off the Navy Midshipmen for a win Saturday, falling 23-21 in the 83rd meeting of the two teams.

Fencing: Irish send best to USFA Juniors

Following back-to-back second-place finishes in the NCAA Championships, the Irish begin this season looking to grab that elusive title. Led by sophomore epeeist Courtney Hurley and sophomore Olympian Gerek Meinhardt, Notre Dame will send its best to compete in the USFA NAC Juniors today in Kansas City, Mo.
