Chris Tyree ready to step into bigger role for Irish

·

Chris “The Jet” Tyree’s role as the understudy at the running back position has come to an end following the departure of Kyren Williams to the NFL. Once known as a can’t-miss recruit, Tyree will have the chance this season to prove that statement true. There’s no doubt that Tyree has big shoes to fill. But he feels he is ready to take on the role of an offensive leader.

Notre Dame’s keys to victory against Ohio State

·

With the Irish currently sitting as 17.5-point underdogs against Ohio State, they are going to need a multitude of things to go their way come Saturday. Limiting the production of Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud will be nearly impossible, but there are other paths to victory for the Irish.

Irish secondary prepares for prolific Buckeye offense

·

If Notre Dame has any hope of upsetting Ohio State in Columbus this weekend, they will have to start by slowing down the Buckeyes dynamic passing attack. Despite losing star receivers Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave in the first round of the NFL draft, the Buckeyes still boast likely Heisman contenders quarterback C.J. Stroud and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Irish men’s soccer looks to stay on track against Indiana

·

On Monday, the No. 22 Notre Dame men’s soccer team bounced back from a surprising season-opening defeat against Seattle with a much-needed 3-2 win at Michigan State. The Irish will look to make it two consecutive road victories against Big Ten opponents as they match up with Indiana on Saturday night in Bloomington. The Hoosiers, ranked No. 21, will be seeking their first win of the new season. Indiana is 0-1-1 with a 3-2 loss at the hands of Clemson and a 3-3 draw with Portland.

Sirianni: Captain Jack's Buckeye attack

·

“Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jack and I will be your captain today; if there is any way I can be of service, please let me know.”  This is a line that has become almost permanently ingrained into my head during the course of my summer job at Frankenmuth Funships in Frankenmuth, Michigan.  If I had a dollar for every time that I uttered these words this summer, I could buy my whole section tickets to this Saturday’s game.

Herko: The era of superconferences

On June 30, college football fans thought the biggest announcement of the day was Notre Dame Head Coach Marcus Freeman telling Irish fans to wear green against the September 17th game against Cal. They were wrong.

After notching season's first win, Irish volleyball travel to Long Beach State Tournament

·

The energy rose inside Purcell Pavillion Sunday afternoon as the clock neared 4 p.m. The Notre Dame volleyball team had lost their first two games of the season in fairly decisive fashion, but they were all even as they prepared for a fifth and decisive set against Milwaukee University. It would have been understandable if a young Irish team, and their new head coach Salima Rockwell, felt the pressure of the moment. But instead, Rockwell encouraged her team to embrace it.

ZeLO Model Predictions: Week 1

·

Last weekend, college football had what might be the oddest weekend in sports: Week 0. I have always watched and enjoyed college football, but I was never a diehard fan and the earliest I would watch was the start of conference play.
