Irish finish sixth at Shoal Creek Invitational

·

After a strong start in the first round Monday, the No. 22 Irish found themselves sitting in 2nd place heading into Tuesday at 5-over-par. The squad ultimately failed to capitalize on its advantageous position in the tournament’s second round. A combined six double-bogeys on Tuesday left the Irish 10-over-par with a sixth place finish. The Irish still found themselves just six strokes away from a top-three finish in a field, alongside noteworthy competitors such as No. 4 Wake Forest and North Florida.
