Step up two: the pleats

We write today in support of Soren Hansen’s Jan. 22 column, “Step it up, please.” We, too, bemoan and lament the disintegrating expectations toward dress in our university’s classrooms. Denim? Are you serious? The attire of construction workers and hooligans has no place in an intellectual setting like DeBartolo Hall.

What does a human life mean to you?

I was excited to read that at least 1,000 members and students of the Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s and Holy Cross community went to Washington, D.C. for the 2018 March for Life. To my disappointment, I later read a Viewpoint opposing the March for Life.

Advice from an elf

Spring semester is here and as we all start our classes and re-acquaint ourselves with our friends and roommates, the inevitable question arises: “What did you do over winter break?” Some people went on vacation to a sunny beach or took time to visit distant relatives. Me? I was an elf.

Give Notre Dame women the facts

I am writing in response to the University’s reversal of its decision to end contraceptive coverage for staff and students. As a Catholic woman and an alumna of Notre Dame, I am concerned about what this decision means for all women within the Notre Dame community.
