Seniors choose postgraduate service

Graduation is right around the corner, and the Career Center is advertising resume workshops, career fairs and practice interviews. Business cards are exchanged. Hands are shaken. Connections are made. Jobs are secured.

For about 10 to 12 percent of the senior class, these interviews are a little bit different. The career fair is a new kind of career fair.

The Center for Social Concerns (CSC) hosted a postgraduate service fair Wednesday for seniors looking into volunteer organizations after graduation.

Michael Hebbeler, director of student leadership and senior transitions at the CSC, said over 80 organizations were present at the service fair.

"More and more students are taking the plunge into postgraduate service," he said. "Those who do are better equipped to pursue fulltime jobs in the future because they have lived, experienced the world and know themselves."

ND Minute caught up with the postgraduate service fair last week. Take a look at the mission that makes these students tick.
