D.J. Harvey considers transfer from ND

After a freshman season marred by injury and a sophomore campaign that ended with a losing record, sophomore guard D.J. Harvey is considering transferring from Notre Dame, according to ND Insider. Harvey, who entered the NCAA transfer portal Saturday, has not ruled out remaining with the Irish, but has opened himself up to the possibility of finishing his collegiate career elsewhere.

In his opening season, Harvey played in 19 games, averaging 5.8 points per game and collecting a total of 56 rebounds. He suffered a season-ending left knee injury against Louisville on Jan. 16, 2018 after playing seven minutes, and sat out the remainder of the school year and the majority of summer ball before returning in late fall.

In the 2018-2019 season, he started in all 29 of the games he appeared in, averaging 10.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 25.9 minutes. The sophomore faced a setback with his injury against Louisville on March 3 and did not play the remainder of the season, missing the final two regular-season matchups and the entirety of the ACC tournament.

Harvey has yet to comment.
