Notre Dame unveils green jerseys — and pants — for Ohio State game

Notre Dame unveiled its green uniforms Monday for the Sept. 23 matchup against Ohio State. Notably, the uniforms feature white numbers and green pants. Notre Dame has worn green pants just once in program history when the Irish played Boston College at Fenway Park in 2015 as part of the Shamrock Series.

The Irish are 10-6 all time when wearing uniforms that include green, according to Blue and Gold Illustrated. Last year, Notre Dame wore green jerseys with navy numbers and white names on the back during its 24-17 victory over Cal. For the second time in two years, the team spoofed a movie to release special edition uniforms. Last year, members of the team traveled to Las Vegas to film a “The Hangover” spoof to reveal the Shamrock Series uniforms for its matchup against BYU. This year, running back Audric Estime, quarterback Sam Hartman and head coach Marcus Freeman filmed a “Jerry Maguire” spoof to unveil the jerseys.

Notre Dame's matchup against Ohio State is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at home. The Irish are 2-5 all-time against the Buckeyes, according to Irish Breakdown. Last year, Ohio State beat Notre Dame 21-10 in the season opener in Columbus. [gallery type="rectangular" ids="271734,271735,271736,271737"]
