The Saint Mary’s lacrosse team finished the 2025 season going 5-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play. As a team, the Belles tallied 118 goals, 40 assists, 296 shots and 228 shots on goal. They fell short of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament as they finished the regular season tied with Adrian and Albion, who possessing the tiebreaker over the Belles, pushed them out of the top-six cut.
Head coach Kara Visker's group had a bumpy start, losing four of their first five games. Visker, a two-time Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates DII All-American, joined the Belles in 2024 after previously serving as an assistant coach at Bethel.
Key to the Belles’ successes was the trio of sophomore attackers Lana Skibins, Cate Krema and Rachel Speckhard. Collectively, the three finished with a total of 55 goals for the season. Skibins started all 15 games for the Belles and rounded out her season with 14 goals, 14 assists, a 43.8 shot percentage, 27 shots on goal and a shot-on-goal percentage of 84.4. Krema started in 13 games for Saint Mary’s. She finished the year with total of 16 goals, two assists, a 45.7 shot percentage, 29 shots on goal and a 78.9 shot-on-goal percentage. Rounding out the impressive trio, Speckhard started 14 games for the Belles. She led the trio with a team-high 25 goals, while also adding one assist, a 53.2 shot percentage, 43 shots on goal and an efficient shot-on-goal percentage of 92.2.
Another team leader for the Belles was midfielder Valentina Rubio. The senior started 12 games, finishing her final season at Saint Mary’s with a total of 20 goals, five assists, 35 shots on goal and a shot-on-goal percentage of 63.6. The senior concluded her four-year career with a total of 77 goals, 30 assists and 146 shots on goal.
