Pete Buttigieg fireside chat rescheduled for Jan. 23

The original event with the former transportation secretary was postponed in November due to a family health issue.

Pete Buttigieg, former transportation secretary under President Joe Biden, will return to the University of Notre Dame next week for a fireside chat sponsored by the Keough School of Global Affairs. The event will take place in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 23. Tickets are required.

The former mayor of South Bend was originally scheduled to visit Notre Dame on Nov. 7, 2025, but was unable to travel due to a family health issue, according to a University spokesperson. The event was postponed and later rescheduled to the January date. Confirmed tickets for the original date are still valid.

Dean of the Keough School Mary Gallagher will join Buttigieg for the fireside chat, titled “Leadership, Innovation, and the Next Generation,” to discuss his career as a public servant. Buttigieg will also address the importance of universities in modern society and other challenges the world faces.
