Since fall 2024, campus visitors for Notre Dame football games have also stopped by the University’s College of Arts and Letters home game Friday programming: Crash Course. At 2:30 p.m. in DeBartolo Hall, a professor from the College presents an hourlong lecture on numerous courses available to students. Attendees of the Crash Course include alumni, parents and prospective students who are interested in experiencing what a class at Notre Dame is like.

Despite a 26-point blowout rivalry victory in which his freshman quarterback attained a perfect passer rating and his standout running back duo combined for six touchdowns, head coach Marcus Freeman seemed exhausted and exasperated in his postgame press conference. Why, you might ask? It’s because his defense is bad. Really bad.

On Thursday on South Quad, Welsh Family Hall hosted its annual Hoedown Throwdown, a country-themed dance party. Hoedown Throwdown began at 5 p.m. with donuts, apple cider and dancing.

Notre Dame men’s soccer extended their winning streak to three on Friday night, rolling past No. 12 Louisville for a 3-0 victory. The Cardinals entered Alumni Stadium boasting a stout defense that had only conceded once this season, but head coach Chad Riley’s Irish found the back of the net three times over the final 45 minutes.

Despite an almost two-hour weather delay and a defense that still faces more questions than answers, head coach Marcus Freeman’s Notre Dame outdueled rival Purdue 56-30 on Saturday to collect their first win of the season. The Irish were once again led by the standout backfield duo of juniors Jadarian Price and Jeremiyah Love. The pair combined to rush for 231 yards on 28 carries, reaching the end zone six times. Defensively, the secondary was much improved from a week ago, with junior cornerback Christian Gray hauling in his first interception of the campaign and freshman cornerback Dallas Golden collecting the first of his career.

On Saturday evening, Notre Dame football found the win column for the first time in 2025, pummeling Purdue by a score of 56-30 at Notre Dame Stadium. The victory wasn’t always a comfortable one, as Purdue tallied 23 of its points in the first half, and a 114-minute lightning delay lengthened the halftime break. However, Notre Dame’s offensive stars easily overcame any and all defensive struggles, bringing the Irish to 1-2 for the year.

The sixth-ranked Notre Dame women’s soccer team picked up their first ranked win of the season on Thursday night, topping third-ranked Duke at Alumni Stadium. The Irish dominated the first hour of the match, scoring the first three goals, before hanging on to claim the 3-2 triumph over the Blue Devils.

Irish fans may have déjà vu from 2024, as their team prepares for a Purdue matchup following a devastating home-opener loss. This time, however, the situation feels a bit more dire, as Notre Dame sits at 0-2 without any margin for error. A 10-game win streak is their only path to the College Football Playoff, but more pressing questions must be answered before that idea even seems fathomable.

Notre Dame volleyball is 3-3 on the season, with wins against Colorado State, Santa Clara and East Texas A&M. Although they have three losses on the season, two were tough fights, forcing five-set matches against Villanova and Illinois.

When Notre Dame English professor Susan Harris found herself behind a “Jeopardy!” podium at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, she was tasked with navigating a different type of text: a glowing gameboard of trivia clues. Her episode, taped on Aug. 7, 2025, aired this past Tuesday. She ultimately came in third place.

Notre Dame’s Office of Institutional Equity recently released the results of its seventh Sexual Conduct and Campus Climate Survey, continuing the University’s effort to assess students’ knowledge, perceptions and experiences related to sexual assault and sex-based misconduct. The 2024-25 report revealed a boost in student confidence regarding the University’s handling of sexual misconduct cases. However, the self-reported incidents of assault and harassment remained steady compared to previous years.

Fans of the hit Amazon Prime series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” tuned in on Wednesday to watch the highly anticipated series finale, yours truly included. The phenomenon, based on the book series by Jenny Han, premiered in the summer of 2022 and centers around a seemingly never ending love triangle between Isabel “Belly” Conklin and brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher.
