Vaccines are arguably one of the most important lines of defense against the spread of influenza, a common seasonal virus that can have uncommonly nasty effects in elderly individuals with compromised immune systems.

Historian examines Irish political cartoons

In a celebration of the University's Irish character, Notre Dame's Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies sponsored Felix M. Larkin's lecture on the Shemus political cartoons of Ireland in the 1920s. The talk, titled "Artistic Bombs in Ireland: the Shemas Cartoons in the Freeman's Journal, 1920-1924," took place in Flanner Hall on Tuesday afternoon.

Group discusses campus safety, dorm life

During Wednesday night's Student Senate meeting, the group expressed concerns about the armed robbery that took place near McGlinn Hall before fall break and debated the pros and cons of Notre Dame dorm life.

Declan Memorial Fund aids students

Since Declan Sullivan's death three years ago, the fund his family created in his memory has sponsored 52 students at Horizons for Youth, a tutoring and scholarship nonprofit organization in Chicago.

As students return from Fall Break, the Campus Life Council (CLC) reconvened Monday afternoon to discuss on-campus diversity, gender relations and office hours.

Seniors spend fall break at thesis boot camp

While some seniors spent fall break at home, on a road trip or in Las Vegas, 29 members of the Class of 2014 got a jump start on their theses in Thesis Camp, sponsored by the Hesburgh Library and the University Writing Center.
