The challenge of just being
At Notre Dame, something in the air seems to create a “go-go-go” mentality, striving toward a perfection that is ultimately unattainable. Our culture reinforces such an atmosphere, making the facade of that perfection more prominent and often without being authentic enough to understand how we each feel inside. At school, many of us thrive in the patterns of constantly doing: dedicating ourselves to coursework, joining new clubs, applying for leadership positions and spending time with friends — all while trying to sleep at least a little.
Ranking Notre Dame bathrooms
LaFortune Student Center: LaFortune is all-in-all a very oddly designed building. The second floor has two different parts, and I am confident that every time I go in there I discover a brand new area I’d never seen before. Likewise, the bathrooms just don’t have a great location. They aren’t too clean and feel very cramped and poorly lit, despite the windows providing natural light. 3/10

Be brave enough to care
I care about a lot of things. Probably too many things. I have strong opinions from politics to whether the Oxford comma ought to be respected as a punctuation mark (it should).
Legacy
This is the last Observer column that I will ever write. In fact, it’s probably the last column I’ll ever write because, you know, writing columns in newspapers isn’t really a thing most people do.
