For the first time ever, Notre Dame is No. 1 in the BCS standings. But given one final road test against a USC team that started the year at No. 1, the Irish have not had too much time to celebrate with a national championship berth at stake.

Hockey: Notre Dame sweeps Michigan at Yost Arena

Notre Dame completed its first sweep of Michigan at Yost Arena on the strength of a 4-1 win over the Wolverines on Friday night, netting third period goals from freshman Mario Lucia, junior forward Jeff Costello and sophomore Robbie Russo, who also recorded a first period goal to put the Irish on top ahead.

Men's Interhall: Knights hold off Otters' comeback attempt

No. 2 Keenan closed the book on its undefeated season and won the Men's Interhall football championship with a 20-18 victory over No. 1 Sorin on Sunday at Notre Dame Stadium. The Knights (6-0-1) handed the Otters (6-1) a heartbreaking loss that came down to two-point conversions. Each team scored three touchdowns, but Keenan stopped all three of Sorin's conversion attempts to hang on for the win.

Irish finish 6-0 at home

With Saturday's victory, Notre Dame finished the season with an undefeated home record for the first time since 1998. The Irish went 6-0 at Notre Dame Stadium and have won eight straight home games dating back to last season.

From the moment they ran through the tunnel to the singing of the alma mater, the Irish seniors shined, leading Notre Dame to a near-perfect 38-0 victory over Wake Forest and its first undefeated home season since 1998.
