Women's Lacrosse: Irish throttle Bearcats in regular-season finale

Saturday's game against Cincinnati was more than just a normal lacrosse game in Arlotta Stadium. The contest served as Notre Dame's final game of the regular season, Senior Day and the Lax for the Cure game. But even with the many accompanying occasions, the No. 6 Irish managed to handle the lacrosse portion of the day quite skillfully with a 22-2 victory.

ND Soccer: Women win, men lose to international opponents

The Irish men welcomed the Mexico under-20 national team for their final outing of the spring exhibition season. But along with the team, a large contingent of Mexico fans accepted the invitation to Alumni Stadium, watching the Irish fall 1-0.

Rowing: Irish finish regular season on high note

The Irish finished their regular season schedule with a perfect record at the Big East Invitational in Indianapolis, winning every race during the meet. The perfect day included a clean sweep of the three grand finals.

SMC Tennis: Belles finish MIAA with loss to Hope

The Belles struggled in the last of their eight conference matchups Saturday against Hope, losing 8-1. Saint Mary's had already been ruled out of the MIAA championships after a loss to Kalamazoo on Tuesday, and following Saturday's loss, it will finish the season sixth in the MIAA.

No. 3 Notre Dame will take the field against No. 17 Syracuse on Saturday as it looks for its 10th consecutive win in its final Big East game of the regular season.

Men's Golf: Notre Dame ends regular season with momentum

The Irish started the spring regular season with a tournament victory. With their win at the Battle at the Warren last weekend, they ended it with one as well. Now, the Irish hope to continue their winning ways as they head to the Big East tournament at the Reunion Resort Watson Course in Orlando, Fla.

Robison: Lacrosse fever spreads through South Bend (April 27)

As No. 3 Notre Dame prepares to take on Big East rival No. 17 Syracuse on Saturday in Arlotta Stadium, I can't help but think that this is exactly the direction in which the game of lacrosse should be heading. Tickets have already sold out for the 5 p.m. start time, and students must go to the ticket office two days in advance to secure a seat in the stadium. Two of the country's premier programs will square off in front of a national television audience on ESPNU.

SMC Golf: Belles travel for anticipated meet

The Belles will travel to Marshall, Mich., for the final two rounds of the MIAA NCAA qualifier today, the biggest meet of their season thus far. The team with the lowest three-round score will earn the conference's automatic spot in May's NCAA Division III championship.

SMC Tennis: Belles seek final win despite lost MIAA hopes

Now mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the MIAA conference tournament, Saint Mary's will not be backing down in its final conference match against conference-leading Hope on Saturday. The Belles (10-8, 3-4 MIAA) are playing for the win against the Flying Dutch (15-7, 7-0 MIAA) as they always do, Belles coach Dale Campbell said.

Track: Irish prepare for last chance to qualify for championships

With the Big East outdoor championships set to begin next weekend, Notre Dame will look to make its final preparations toward its goal of a conference title at a pair of relays this weekend. Several team members will travel to Hillsdale, Mich., to compete in the Hillsdale Gina Relays, while select Irish relay teams and athletes will journey to Des Moines, Iowa, to participate in the famed Drake Relays.

Football: Cardinals, Vikings take Floyd, Smith in first round

Two former Notre Dame players joined professional rosters after being selected in the first round of Thursday night's 2012 NFL Draft, as wide receiver Michael Floyd and safety Harrison Smith became the first Irish teammates to be selected in the first round in the same year since 1994. Floyd was selected No. 13 overall by the Arizona Cardinals and Smith was chosen 16 picks later at No. 29 overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

ND Softball: Winter leads squad to sweep over Pirates

Facing not only a Big East opponent in Seton Hall, but also the length of a mid-week doubleheader with long rain delays, the Irish pulled out two good efforts to sweep the Pirates on Wednesday. The Irish stood behind stringent defense and the continued hotstreak of sophomore pitcher Laura Winter.
