Fencing: Bednarski, Irish look to retain national championship title

As the postseason rapidly approaches, the Irish are preparing to defend their national championship. This weekend, Notre Dame will travel to New York, N.Y. to compete in the Squad Championships hosted by NYU. The event will give the Irish an opportunity to prove themselves against some of the best fencers in the country.

Men's Basketball: Going to the Garden

Following a 71-44 rout of West Virginia on Wednesday, the No. 18 Irish can clinch a coveted double-bye in the Big East tournament with a win against St. John's. They can do it on the same court where they hope to apply it: Madison Square Garden.

Most fans probably knew freshman guard Pat Connaughton knocked down seven 3-pointers Saturday. Most fans probably knew junior forward Jack Cooley recorded his fourth straight double-double in the 74-70 overtime win over Villanova.

SMC Tennis: Belles lose in opener to CWRU

Saint Mary's opened its season with a rough start, falling to No. 14 Case Western Reserve University 9-0. The Belles (0-1) continued to fight despite being swept in two doubles matches and two singles matches.

With a commanding 68-52 win over No. 19 Louisville, the No. 3 Irish appear to be back on track in pursuit of their first Big East title since sharing the crown with Connecticut in 2001.

Men's Tennis: Andrews displays exceptional play, continues to improve

While the Irish have battled some inconsistency this spring, they can count on sophomore Greg Andrews at No. 2 singles to produce consistent performances, evident in his impressive 11-1 mark this season. Irish coach Bobby Bayliss said he is not surprised with the strong play of the sophomore from Richland, Mich.
