Week Eight: Navy

The Irish faced a tumultuous seven days prior to their game against Navy on Saturday. Notre Dame lost to its archrival the previous week, senior starting defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore suffered a season-ending detached MCL and Irish coach Brian Kelly apologized to his team Friday for comments he made to the media the day before. Yet despite these potential challenges and distractions, the Irish (5-3) rolled to a dominating 56-14 win over the Midshipmen (2-6).

SMC Volleyball: Belles head to Albion for MIAA season finale

The Belles will travel to Albion on Friday for their final game of the season and the last match of senior Meghann Rose's career.  The South Bend native and the Belles' lone senior will lead Saint Mary's (7-17, 5-10 MIAA) against the Britons (3-23, 0-14) in a match between two teams that are out of contention for the MIAA championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

Recruiting: Visitors leave ND impressed

A week after hosting its largest group of visiting recruits in recent memory, Notre Dame will host no official visitors this weekend against Navy, Irish recruiting expert Mike Frank said. While a number of 2013 players will make unofficial visits to campus, the focus on the 2012 signing class is still largely on the aftermath of last week's bonanza of visitors — and Notre Dame seems to have done well.
