ND Women's Basketball: Terrapin Time

Only Maryland stands in the way of Notre Dame's second consecutive trip to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament. To win the Raleigh, N.C., regional final, the top-seeded Irish need to beat the second-seeded Terrapins, the same team that ousted defending national champion Texas A&M 81-74 in the Sweet 16.

Coming into this season, Notre Dame was expected to have an explosive, record-breaking offense that could light up the scoreboard and carve through opposing defenses. What no one expected, however, was sophomore attack Lindsay Powell would be the one doing most of the scoring.

Notre Dame jumped out to a perfect start in Big East play with its dramatic three-game sweep of Pittsburgh at home over the weekend. After a day off, the team will hit the road for a non-conference battle at Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday night, hoping to keep its momentum rolling.

Women's Basketball: Achonwa steps up and fills the void

RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior guard SkylarDiggins and senior guard Natalie Novosel were in true form, pacing Notre Dame to its second consecutive Final Four appearance with a combined 36 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists Tuesday night. But on a night when graduate student forward Devereaux Peters finished 3-for-9 from the floor in just 20 minutes of action, sophomore forward Natalie Achonwa filled the gap, giving the Irish a much-needed boost off the bench.

RALEIGH, N.C. - For the second time in the tournament's history, each of the four No. 1-seeded teams will compete in the Final Four. Notre Dame will be featured among the other top teams - Stanford, Baylor and Connecticut - after a 80-49 win over Maryland in the Raleigh, N.C., regional final Tuesday at PNC Arena.

Baseball: Five game winning streak ends

In the sole meeting between Notre Dame and the University of Illinois-Chicago this season, the Flames outlasted the Irish by a score of 8-5, snapping Notre Dame's five-game winning streak.

Men's Golf: Notre Dame finishes sixth in 12-team field

For the second tournament in a row, Notre Dame found itself in the middle of the pack, watching Alabama claim the title at the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga. The Irish finished in sixth place in the 12-team field. The Crimson Tide shot a dominating 26-under par over the three rounds, outpacing second-place Georgia by three strokes. The Irish combined to shoot an 18-over par (882 strokes), just three shots behind fifth-place Kentucky.
