Men's Golf: Notre Dame places 12th at Invitational

Notre Dame spent its spring break golfing outdoors for a change, competing against Yale March 14 in an informal tune-up match before competing in the Schenkel Invitational over the weekend. The No. 26 Irish fell to the Bulldogs by one stroke, 607-606, before finishing 12th in a field of 15 at Schenkel.

Baseball: Squad ready for first home contest

Irish coach Mik Aoki has waited more than eight months since his official hiring date on July 13, 2010 for his home debut at Notre Dame. As the rains fell hard in South Bend Tuesday, it was clear that Aoki would have to wait one more day for his first game at Frank Eck Stadium.

Football: Spring ahead

Irish coach Brian Kelly had a number of changes to announce at Tuesday's spring football kickoff press conference, but all of them took a backseat to junior captain and wide receiver Michael Floyd's arrest and subsequent indefinite suspension earlier in the week. In addition to shedding some light on Floyd's situation, Kelly announced a number of position changes as well as highlighted the developing quarterback race.

ND Women's Rowing: Team improves in Tennesee

Like many of their peers, the Irish rowers headed for warmer waters during spring break. In lieu of a week of relaxation, Notre Dame spent its time in Oak Ridge, Tenn. training for the spring season and logging much-needed miles in racing situations.

Fencing: Notre Dame dominates at Regionals

The Irish began NCAA postseason play on a high note over spring break, as both the men's and women's squads put forth strong performances at the regional competition. In total, Notre Dame captured 13 of the possible 18 medals at the event, including four of six gold medals.

Men's Lacrosse: Team extends streak to 4-0

Playing without Preseason All-American midfielder Zach Brenneman for the second straight game, third-ranked Notre Dame continued its scorching start with a 10-9 victory over No. 16 Denver in a back-and-forth thriller.

SMC Golf: Senior Boyce sets school record

Although they did not take home first place honors in their first match outdoor match of the spring, the Belles' performance at the George Fox Invitational earned a mark in the record books as senior co-captain Mary Kate Boyce shot a school-record 66 in the first day of the two-day tournament.

Baseball: Team remains winless after home tournament

Despite hosting the Irish classic over spring break, Notre Dame failed to deliver a win on St. Patrick's Day, falling to Iowa in extra innings. The Irish finished the tournament winless after dropping a second game to the University of Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday, losing to Gonzaga on Saturday and earning a tie on Sunday.

Men's Basketball: Bracket busted

CHICAGO — In an NCAA tournament filled with upsets, the second-seeded Irish were not immune. No. 10-seed Florida State's 27th-ranked defense held Notre Dame 18 points below its scoring average on the way to a 71-57 third-round victory.

Football: WR Floyd suspended following OWI arrest

Irish coach Brian Kelly suspended junior receiver Michael Floyd Monday in the wake of the team captain's arrest for operating while intoxicated early Sunday morning. Floyd was stopped early Sunday morning for allegedly operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.15 or more, according to a St. Joseph County Police report.

CHICAGO -- Coming into their third-round matchup against second-seeded Notre Dame, the No. 10-seeded Seminoles have their focus set on playing outstanding defense -- something Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton has stressed since he was hired in Tallahassee.
