SMC Golf: Belles grab six straight MIAA titles

Coming into the fall season, No. 7 Saint Mary's had two goals: win the MIAA title and make a run at the national championship. After Saturday's landslide victory in the conference championship at Bedford Valley Country Club, the Belles are halfway there.

Once again a quick start and ugly finish resulted in a Notre Dame victory. After taking a 17-3 lead into halftime, the Irish held on for a 23-17 victory over Pittsburgh Saturday.

Hockey: No. 17 Irish split two games

The No. 17 Irish split a pair of games in the season-opening Warrior College Hockey Ice Breaker Tournament in St. Louis this weekend. Notre Dame beat Holy Cross, 6-3, Friday before losing a heartbreaker to No. 14 Boston University in the tournament's championship game on Sunday.

Ugly win is still a positive step

Can we really be happy at all with Notre Dame's win over Pittsburgh? Wasn't this just another example of letting a team off the hook that the Irish were much better than? Isn't it pretty clear that Dayne Crist doesn't have what it takes to be a successful quarterback in this offense? Isn't this team just like last year's?

SMC Volleyball: Team looks to break losing streak in pair

In every level of sports, teams face adversity over the course of a long season. What separates the good teams from the bad teams is the ability to overcome the difficult parts of the season and be able to play well down the stretch, something that Saint Mary's is trying to accomplish this weekend.

With the Compton Family Center rising on the southeast part of campus and a new infusion of freshman talent entering the Joyce Center for its final season, the 2010-2011 season will mark a transition point in No. 17 Notre Dame's hockey history as the program looks to establish itself as one of the premier forces in collegiate hockey.

ND Women's Golf: Notre Dame looks to continue team success

The Irish have gotten off to nothing short of an incredible start this season, taking first place in their first two meets this year. Notre Dame will look to extend its hot streak in Knoxville, Tenn. at the Mercedes Benz Championship at the Holston Hills Country Club.
