Women's Rowing: Varsity shell earns victory

Notre Dame defeated Tulsa in Friday and Saturday's time-trial races on the Saint Joseph's River. On Friday, the Irish defeated the Golden Hurricane in the varsity eight head race, and on Saturday the top varsity four boat claimed victory in the stake race.

With only 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Tulsa cornerback John Flanders and Irish junior receiver Michael Floyd battled for a Tommy Rees pass deep in the end zone.

In a sunny but cold Alumni Stadium, No. 3/5 Notre Dame's historic run of Big East dominance came to a startling halt in a 2-0 loss to Connecticut in the Big East quarterfinals.

ND Cross Country: Jackson named all-league

Saturday afternoon brought favorable results for both teams and one individual in particular. The men's team took fifth and the women's took sixth, but senior Dan Jackson earned All-Big East at the Big East Conference Championships at Jamesville Beach Park in New York.

Football: Irish come up short against Tulsa

Losses like this one might exemplify why the Class of 2011 has seen the most defeats of any four-year class in Notre Dame history. Yet again, the Irish found themselves with chances to put away an underdog playing at Notre Dame Stadium but couldn't capitalize on those opportunities. This time, those missed chances ended in a 28-27 loss to Tulsa.

Men's Soccer: Hoya game moved to Sunday

The last home game of the 2010 season, originally scheduled for Saturday against Georgetown, has been postponed to Sunday at 6:00 p.m. An Irish victory over they Hoyas could give the Notre Dame a bye in the first round of next week's Big East tournament.

ND Women's Golf: Squad competes in Texas tourney

With a sixth-place finish against some of the top teams in the nation at their last event, the No. 18 Irish have had a successful fall season, which they will try to continue Sunday and early next week as they travel to San Antonio for the Alamo Invitational.
