Football: Safety first

Members of the Irish secondary will get a much-needed reprieve this week as junior safeties Jamoris Slaughter and Dan McCarthy are expected to play Saturday against Stanford, Irish coach Brian Kelly confirmed after practice Wednesday.

Football: Cleaning it up

After suffering a second last-minute loss, the Irish do not need to learn how to win. Notre Dame simply needs to play "cleaner," Irish coach Brian Kelly said in a press conference Tuesday.

ND Basketball: Irish release 2010-11 schedules

As hard as it may be to believe, the 2010 Irish basketball opener is less than six weeks away. Notre Dame released both the men's and women's 2010-2011 regular season schedules this week, and both schedules hold many challenges for the Irish.

ND Women's Golf: Conway, Park look to lead in tournament

Leading the Irish as they prepare to step back onto the course this weekend are two familiar faces who are no stranger to the success the Irish have achieved in the last few years. Seniors Katie Conway and So-Hyun Park hope to use their experience to lead the Notre Dame team to a higher level of play this year, and they are just the people to do so.

Men's Interhall Football: Opening weekend kicks off

Both St. Edward's and Sorin entered their season opener wanting a successful beginning to the new campaign. After an exciting contest Sunday, only the Gentlemen (1-0) have gotten their season off to the start they hoped for.

Club Sports: Montee, Lugo compete for Irish in bike race

Murphy Kate Montee and Jose Lugo represented Notre Dame at the Purdue Cross-Country Mountain Bike race Sunday.  Montee placed first in the Women's A category.  After a rough start, she pulled ahead and won in an exciting sprint finish.  Jose entered the singlet rack in the front of the Men's C pack, but flatted halfway through the lap and walked it in.

SMC Soccer: Belles head out to face Spartans

After ending its six game losing streak Friday, the Saint Mary's College soccer team hopes to win two more as they travel to Manchester Tuesday to take on the Spartans before the regular season comes to a close.

ND Women's Soccer: Freshman Footwork

Although the transition from high school to collegiate soccer generally isn't a seamless transition, freshman midfielder Elizabeth Tucker is doing her best to prove otherwise. Tucker accounted for three of Notre Dame's four goals over weekend, lifting the Irish to a 2-0 victory over DePaul on Friday and a 2-1 win against Northwestern on Sunday.
