Irish softball punishes Indiana with fourth run-rule victory of April
Notre Dame baseball (17-13, 7-8 ACC) currently occupies fourth place in the ACC’s Atlantic Division. Over the next four weekends, the Irish will face the three teams sitting below them - plus national No. 7 Virginia. Sitting just a game and a half out of second place, Notre Dame will have a major opportunity to further prove itself as a major national competitor, but also to solidify a favorable position in the standings. This weekend’s matchup with Clemson (20-14, 4-8 ACC) represents the first checkpoint.
Notre Dame baseball played four games over the past week, starting strong but struggling to the finish line. The Irish offense surged in a series win and near-sweep at Pittsburgh over the weekend. However, the bats couldn’t deliver late in Tuesday’s 7-6 home loss to Michigan State. The 11-inning defeat snapped Notre Dame’s five-game winning streak in midweek games. With the results, the Irish now sit 17-13 overall and 7-8 in ACC play.
The last time Notre Dame women's lacrosse took the field, it served as a marquee moment for the team as a whole. The Irish beat No. 3 North Carolina, easily their most impressive win of their season. But in doing so, they also elevated a pair of their players into the national spotlight.
Notre Dame men’s tennis will be back in action this weekend against two ACC opponents, playing at Clemson on Friday and at Georgia Tech on Sunday. The Irish are heading into this crucial weekend with a two-game win streak, with a 6-1 win over Boston College and a 4-3 defeat of Butler on April 2. They enter ranked No. 54 on ITA rankings.
