Ally Liedtke, assistant director of housing assignments in Residential Life, will serve as McGlinn Hall’s interim rector, an email to hall residents stated today.
The appointment fills a hole in hall leadership opened on June 29 when rector Elizabeth Greenop was placed on leave from the University.
“We anticipate Liz will remain on leave for the start of the fall semester,” the email, by director of residential life for residential education Breyan Tornifolio, stated.
Liedtke received a bachelor’s in theology from the University of Portland in 2018 and a master’s in higher education from Boston College in 2021. She joined the University in 2021 as the sixth rector of Ryan Hall.
Liedtke informed the hall community of her retirement shortly before the end of the 2025-2026 academic year.
“All of us in Residential Life are so grateful to Ally for saying yes to this opportunity to support the McGlinn community as you prepare to move into the hall and begin the fall semester,” Tornifolio stated.
After a July wedding, Liedtke will also become the sixth rector to lead a dorm community while married.
Since 2017, married rectors have been permitted to continue serving and living in their residence halls, including with their spouse. Liedtke will live in Fischer Graduate Residences during her interim appointment.
Prior to the announcement of Liedtke’s leadership, Tornifolio had been listed as a point of contact for the McGlinn community. According to the email, Tornifolio will remain engaged with the McGlinn community, including for Welcome Weekend activities and a conversation with parents of McGlinn freshmen on Aug. 22.
Tornifolio also noted that Fr. Richard Bullene, the hall’s priest-in-residence, will continue to live in McGlinn for the 2026-2027 academic year.
A request for comment to Liedtke was redirected to university spokesperson Erin Blasko by Division of Student Affairs communications director Kate Morgan.
Blasko stated there was nothing additional to share regarding the appointment.
