Men's Track & Field: Blue and Gold meet kicks off indoor season

Coming off a successful cross country season that featured a berth at the NCAA championship meet, Irish coach Joe Piane and Notre Dame will rejoin the full complement of track and field athletes when they begin their indoor campaign Friday by hosting the Blue and Gold Meet.

TE Eifert reaches rare milestone

STANFORD, Calif. — Junior tight end Tyler Eifert eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark on a 23-yard catch in the first quarter, making him the fifth Irish tight end to accomplish the feat. Senior receiver Michael Floyd caught eight passes, pushing his season total to 95, a new Irish record. Former receiver Golden Tate held the previous record with 93 catches. Floyd also caught the 36th touchdown reception of his career in the third quarter, extending his Notre Dame career touchdown receptions record.

Hockey: Weekend split halts win streak

Riding a 10-game unbeaten streak, No. 3/2 Notre Dame took the long ride up to No. 14/13 Lake Superior St. over the weekend for a pair of key conference games. The team played some of its best hockey of the season during Friday night's 4-1 win, but the Irish were left with a sour taste in their mouths after a 5-2 loss Saturday.

ND Volleyball: Campaign concludes with a loss

Every year Irish coach Debbie Brown schedules a non-conference match at the end of the Big East championship for a little competitive practice before tournament time. But without a spot in the tournament this year, a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Dayton on Friday was all the Irish had to show for the extra game.

Hendrix seizes rare opportunity

STANFORD, Calif. — When Irish sophomore quarterback Tommy Rees took a hard hit on Notre Dame's first play from scrimmage Saturday, Andrew Hendrix was standing nearby Irish coach Brian Kelly with his helmet in hand. Seconds later, Hendrix was taking a snap from senior center Mike Golic, Jr.

ND Women's Basketball: Last second magic

With less than a second left, Notre Dame senior guard Natalie Novosel scored the game-winning basket from the free-throw line, and the Irish beat Duke 56-54 in the Championship game of the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas on Saturday night.

Abromaitis to miss season

Notre Dame fifth-year forward Tim Abromaitis injured his ACL during practice today and will be out for the rest of the year.

Week Eleven: Boston College

On an emotional night for its seniors, Notre Dame gutted out a close 16-14 victory over determined underdog Boston College, utilizing staunch defense and three field goals from fifth-year kicker David Ruffer.
