Notre Dame’s Pulte Institute restructures after federal funding cuts

Following the loss of nearly $20 million in federal grants, the University of Notre Dame’s Pulte Institute for Global Development underwent major restructuring reducing its staff by two-thirds, pivoting its operations for long-term sustainability and reaffirming its mission to advance global development despite scaled-back resources.

The 2025 Madeleva Lecture, "Holy Women Making History," was presented on Thursday by speaker Kathleen Sprows Cummings, the Rev. John A. O'Brien collegiate professor of American studies and history at the University of Notre Dame.

The campaign, We Deserve Space, We Deserve Food, We Deserve Pay, petitions for access to storage in Regina Hall during certain periods for out of state students, availability of Saint Mary's Noble Family Dining Hall over breaks and increase in student wages for on-campus jobs.
